Betty J. Ashley, 60, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born on February 22, 1961, a daughter of the late Harry Norman and Ella (Hughes) Pounds.
She graduated from high school in Murray, Kentucky. She was married to Bill Ashely; he preceded her in death.
Betty was a cook for the Waffle House and the Knotty Pine Inn in Lebanon for many years before they both closed. She enjoyed collecting miscellaneous items, especially elephants and Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Survivors include her companion, Kevin Showalter of Lebanon; sisters, Sharon Hernandez of Lebanon; Teresa Lloyd of Lebanon; brother, Jack Pounds of Indianapolis.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pounds; sister, Roberta Adams; and brother-in-law, Ralph Lloyd.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. No services will be held. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory in Lebanon, Indiana have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
