Betty Jane Fowler, 94, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, with her loving family by her side. She was born August 18, 1927, in Shelbyville, Indiana, a daughter of the late Theodore Floyd and Edna Pearl (Richardson) Parker.

Betty had lived most of her life in Lebanon, Indiana. She was a 1947 graduate of Lebanon High School. Betty chose a career as a nurses aide at Witham Memorial Hospital, working the night shift for over 40 years. She loved her job and always had great stories to tell.

She was a charter member of the Lebanonette Extension Homemakers Club and loved volunteering at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. She was a member of the Central Christian Church. Betty enjoyed traveling, playing Euchre, and working her crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and attending all events and activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn (Dave) Vandivier and Janet (Fred) Johnson; granddaughters, Monica (Tim) Buckner and Amanda Vandivier; and great grandchildren, Payton (Nathan) Pflugh and Nolan Buckner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Brian Edward Fowler; and siblings, Garnet “Bud” Parker, Morris Parker, Kenneth Parker, and Fern Biehl.

Graveside Services are to be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana with visitation there from 1:00 p.m. until the service. Myers Mortuary in Lebanon has been entrusted with her arrangements.

Memorials in Betty’s memory may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
