Betty Jean Lawson, 83, Muncie passed away at IU Ball Hospital December 23, 2022.
Betty was born in Byrdtown, Tennessee and at an early age she and her family moved to the Spiceland area and later New Castle, Indiana.
Betty attended school at what is now Blue River Schools and worked in her early years at the Top Hat and Crider’s Drive Inn in New Castle. She eventually married James R. Lawson of New Castle who passed in 2010.
Jim and Betty managed, owned and operated multiple Shell gasoline stations in the greater Muncie and Anderson area. She served as Vice President of James R Lawson Enterprises, Incorporated.
Betty is survived by her children: Sherry Winchester (husband Jeff) of Muncie, Randy Lawson of Frankfort, Belinda Miller (husband Jim) of Franklin.
She is also survived by multiple grand children and great grand children.
Private services will be conducted for immediate family Thursday, December 29, 2022. Burial follows.
