Betty M. Cox, 98, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Monticello Healthcare in Monticello, Indiana. She was born in Lebanon on March 30, 1925, a daughter of the late Orville Cleo Adams and Grace (Reddick) Adams.
On March 15, 1949, she was married to Alfred Leon Cox in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1992.
Born and raised in Indiana, Betty had moved to California for many years and returned to Indiana in 1976. She was a 4-H leader in California, and she was a member of the VFW Aux in Lebanon. She had worked as a housekeeper in Indianapolis at the Holiday Inn North for over 20 years.
Betty enjoyed being outdoors gardening, hiking, and biking. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and she was a dog lover. Betty found joy raising her grandchildren and creating memories that will forever live in their hearts.
Survivors include her daughters, Beckey (Alex) Alexander and Connie (Brian) Clark; grandchildren, Izic Clark, Randy Smith, Dominic Smith, Jessie Alexander and Beau Alexander; great grandchildren, Russell, Ruby, Christopher, Jeremiah, Koressa, Damion and Kemmy; brother, Allan Adams; sister, Barbara Endsley; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sister Illene Miller and brother, “Sonny” Irvin Adams.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Mts. Runn Cemetery in Zionsville, Indiana.
