Mrs. Bonnie Batts, 88, of Lebanon, died Monday, Sep. 4, 2023, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Victor John Taylor, Sr. and Dora (Dye) Taylor. Bonnie married Charles Batts on June 25, 1960, and he preceded her in death Nov. 2007.

Bonnie was an avid church goer and was strong in her faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bonnie enjoyed baking cookies for her grandchildren, and was especially known for her chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, red cake, and noodles. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her children, Ed Batts, Kathy (Jack) Anderson, Janice (Tom) Taylor, Ron (Kim) Batts, and Chuck Batts, 18 grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Patty (Paul) Shelton, daughter-in-law, Ila Batts, and eight siblings.

Family and friends will gather Friday, Sep. 8, for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sep. 9, at 10 a.m. in the Mortuary. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
