Brenda Sue Hankins Cox, 71, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Lebanon on February 3, 1952, a daughter of the late Richard Lee French and Esther Lovine (Dunn) French Tunnell Golden.
On August 21, 1970, she was married to Mike L. Hankins in Lebanon. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2017.
A lifelong resident of Lebanon, Brenda had worked at various places including Royal Cleaners, Shumate Business Forms, IGA, and the Indiana United Methodist Children’s Home. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge. Brenda loved her family and the times spent together. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo, and playing pool with her son.
Survivors include children, Richard L. Hankins and Kimberly Meyer of Lebanon; grandchildren, Rachel Dye, Cory Hankins, Kim Hankins, Mason Dakota Hankins, Sierra Loy, and Austin Loy; great grandchildren, Keyian, Brody and Zoey Hankins; brothers, Richard (Nancy) French, Tom (Letia) French, Bob French, and Jerry French; sisters, Carolyn (Jeff) Davis and Janie (Todd) Heffer; sisters-in-law, Joanne (Phil) Stewart and Connie (Robert) Luper; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Brenda was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Jones and Debi See; and brothers, Charles L. French and Johnny Tunnell.
Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
