Mrs. Carolyn A. Shepherd, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.
Carolyn was born June 15, 1935, in Boone County, a daughter of the late Marvin B. and Ruth E. (Yates) Neal. She married Larry Shepherd on January 17, 1956. He survives.
Carolyn graduated from Oolitic High School. She enjoyed babysitting for many children, and also enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of the Smile Awhile Home Economics Club, Happy Hoppers Square Dance, Pontiac Oakland Car Club, and a 50- year member of the Lebanon and Pittsboro Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Shepherd of Lebanon; children, Bruce (Linda) Shepherd, Steven (preceded in death by wife, Jeane) Shepherd, Dennis (Lillie) Shepherd, and Greg Shepherd; sisiter-in-law, Judy Neal; grandchildren, Amy Mockobee, Aaron Shepherd, Brittany Shepherd, Rebekah Shepherd, and Drew Shepherd; step- grandchildren, Katie Day, Donnie Starwalt, Chris (Maria) Gee, Jennifer (Rob) Lockhart, and Stephanie (Brad) Hughes; thirteen great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Neal; sister, Marilyn (Mark) Witham; granddaughter, Stacey Stanger; and niece, Marcia Witham.
Family and friends will gather Monday, Mar. 29, 2021 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Order of the Eastern Star Rites at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions in Carolyn’s memory may be made to Browns Wonder Cemetery to help with maintenance, 1626 Douglas Lane, Lebanon, IN 46052.
