Mrs. Carolyn Ann Allen, 88, of Kokomo, passed away Feb. 8, 2020, at her home surrounded by family.

Carolyn was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Alfred and Hazel (Gates) Green. She married Ronald Allen on Jan. 11, 1952, and they recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Carolyn was proud to have participated in 4-H, along with the 4-H State school. She was also proud of her involvement with the Kokomo High School band. Carolyn graduated from the Indiana Business School. She then went on to work for Chrysler Corporation, Public Service, J.C. Penney, Attorney David Rosselot, First National Bank, and Kokomo Speedway. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, camping with friends in Kentucky, trips to the casino, and she loved her dogs.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Allen of Kokomo; children, Carla (Dwight) Albrecht, Ronna (Gary) Bohlander, and Carol McDowell; grandchildren, Jessica (Travis) Myers, Brittany (Nate) Cash, Nick (Abby) Albrecht, Megan (Chad) Keller, Jacob (Morgan) Bohlander, Molly Bohlander, and Joshua McDowell; great-grandchildren, Beau and Brooks Keller and she was anticipating the birth of baby Cash; and her spouse’s siblings, Donald (LaDonna) Allen, John (Janet) Allen, Anna (George) Batts, Janet (Steve) Gregg, Judy (Bob) Skow, Maxine (Hank) Waltenburg, and Eileen Allen. Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Brunes and Aneta Copenhaver; and her spouse’s siblings, Robert (Barb) Allen, Doyle Allen, Carter (Midge) Allen, Frances (Jack) Dunbar, and Mary (Lester) Higer.

Family and friends will gather Tues., Feb. 11, 2020 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
