A caucus scheduled to fill the Lebanon City Council seat will have to be rescheduled due to a snafu in the precincts present. The Boone County Republican Central Committee scheduled a caucus for Aug. 16 to fill the seat vacated by Dan Fleming who resigned Aug. 2. All precincts with city voters were to be invited to the caucus to pick a replacement. Boone County Clerk Jessica Fouts said there were 16 precincts in the city. Fifteen of the precincts were represented in the Friday afternoon caucus and seven candidates had filed to fill the seat for the remainder of the year. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
