At 4:51 p.m. Tuesday Center Township Fire was dispatched to the 1200 block of 375 N in rural Center Township on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a large barn fully involved with fire. The barn contained approximately 250 large bales of hay and straw. Multiple other pieces of equipment were also inside the structure. The barn and the equipment inside were destroyed as a result.Tankers from multiple different departments provided water for the duration of the incident. There were no civilian or public safety injuries reported from this incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but foul play is not believed to be a factor. Damages are estimated to be around $250,000.
