As the City of Lebanon opens a new, state-of-the-art street and stormwater facility, the City of Lebanon is unveiling a new, streamlined Department of Public Works. Street Department vehicles, snow and ice removal materials, and recycling are all relocating, from 1301 Lafayette Avenue to 324 North Mount Zion Road.

The new facility will ensure that city vehicles will be stored “under roof,” limiting the wear and tear of being parked in the elements. A larger space for salt storage will ensure that the City will no longer have to worry about running low on salt, in the event of prolonged winter weather. The new location also offers an improved recycling experience for residents, thanks to ease of use.

The City has hired Jason Lawson as Public Works Director. Lawson brings more than a decade of infrastructure management and comprehensive planning to the DPW, most recently serving as Public Works Director and later Town Manager of the Town of Whitestown.

While Jason Lawson will oversee infrastructure needs, Street Superintendent David Newell will focus on street maintenance.
