The proposed merger of the Lebanon and Center Township fire departments has been a hot topic in recent weeks as the primary election approaches. Residents of the city and the township got a chance Tuesday evening to hear the city’s proposal for merging the departments. The presentation from Lebanon Fire Chief Chuck Batts touched on a few main points: how taxpayers would benefit financially and how taxpayers could have peace of mind that all fire services in the township would respond according to the same protocols and with the same training and technology.
