Mr. Claude Raymond Bunch, 101, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, Indiana. He was born in Fountain Head, Tennessee, on March 24, 1921, a son of the late Vernon Ray and Zoe (Hunter) Bunch.
He was married in Whitestown, Indiana to Edna Elaine (Muhlenbruch) Bunch in 1973; she survives.
Raised in Indiana, Claude was a 1938 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. Following school, he served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp from 1942 to 1946.
Claude was a self-employed autobody mechanic. He owned and operated Bunches Frame Service in Brownsburg, Indiana.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include six children, Rebecca Bunch of Indianapolis, Alainie (Ed) Cone of Whitestown, Karen (Ron Williams) Marsh of Knightstown, Robert Knox of Whitestown, Lynn (Richard Norman) Knox of Bedford, and John (Gloria) Knox of Lebanon; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by four children, Dord Buckmaster, Robin Buckmaster, Charles Buckmaster, and Jeff Knox; and a sister, Betty Bunch.
Funeral Services with military rites are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
Memorials may be made in his memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
