Boone County attorney Bob Clutter administers the oath of office to newly-appointed auditor Debbie Crum. The Boone County Republican Party is expected to hold a caucus to replace the auditor for the remainder of the year, when Myers’ term would end.
The Boone County Board of Commissioners appointed Deputy Auditor Debbie Crum to acting auditor until a Republican caucus can be held to choose an auditor to fill out the remainder of Heather Myers’ term. When Chief Deputy Auditor Melissa Smith declined to take the office, the commissioners were required to make an appointment. That caucus is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 16 in the Connie Lamar Meeting Room in the Boone County Annex, 116 W. Washington St., Lebanon. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
