The bridges of Boone County are getting older. The average age of the 190 bridges 20 feet or more is 52 years. More than 46% of the bridges are older than 50 years. In a recent inspection, 28 bridges were identified for replacement. Only one bridge was declared an emergency repair, No. 217 or the Templin Road bridge over Little Eagle Creek. The bridge has a shoulder closure and is scheduled to be replaced. A contract with a design firm was approved last December. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
