The Boone County Drainage Board approved a plan to overhaul of the Grassy Branch regulated drain near New Brunswick. Boone County Surveyor Kenny Hedge stated, “the ditch hasn’t had a major reconstruction for 70 years.” Landowners in the watershed would have been billed a one-time fee of $150 per acre for the project, but the drainage board voted to use American Rescue Plan Act, ARPA, funds, which brings the price down to $50 per acre. The Grassy Branch project is part of the county’s $8 million commitment to improve county regulated drains. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
