Deborah Kay “Debra” Coffey, 70, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on April 10, 1952 in Crawfordsville, Indiana; a daughter of Raymond N. Deere and the late Carolyn Lee (Richardson) Deere.

She lived most of her life in Montgomery County and was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School.

Debra was married to Jay Harley Coffey in Lafayette, Indiana; he preceded her in death in 2004.

She worked in Crawfordsville at The Redwood Inn as a cook and took pride in frying some of the best chicken around. She also worked in a nursing home in Ladoga in the laundry department.

Debra was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and good friend to many. Debra had a strong Christian faith and adored all cats. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, singing, playing piano and being with her family.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Raymond and Carol Deere of Rockville; two sisters, Diane E. (Raymond) Hart of Crawfordsville and Patricia A. (Joseph) Fajfer of Rockville and one aunt, Susan (Bill) Haskett of Plainfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana with Pastor Sharon Sharp officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville.
