Dr. Michael Allen McDonald, 75, of Zionsville, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at Brookdale of Carmel.

Michael was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Oakland City, IN, the son of the late Ralph Nolan and Lorene (Miller) McDonald. He married Connie Swackhamer on Dec. 3, 1972

After graduating from Oakland City High School, he obtained his B.S. from Indiana University and his D.D.S from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1972. After graduation, Michael completed a General Practice Resident training program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX. He was then stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO for two years. After completing his military service, he set up practice in Lebanon where he practiced for 38 years.

His memberships included many professional organizations, Director of the former Indiana Community Bank, member of several United Methodist Churches with the latest being Otterbein UMC. He was also a Director for the Indiana Snowmobilers Association.

Michael volunteered his time coaching Little League baseball, Boys and Girls Club basketball, and helping initiate and coach soccer and girls’ softball. He volunteered at the Shalom House and worked on several Habitat builds. Hobbies included showing horses, golfing, jet skiing, snowmobiling, and traveling. He delighted in watching and supporting his grandchildren in all their activities.

Survivors include his loving wife, Connie McDonald of Zionsville; son, Dr. Brent (Dr. Christie) McDonald of Indianapolis; daughter, Erin (Stephen) Stanfield of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Ellie and Blake McDonald and Evan and Mark Stanfield; sister, Susan (Jim) Walters of Lafayette; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Monday, Oct. 24, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Revs. Danny Walker and Jared Kendall officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Michael will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
