Mr. Dwane Lynn “Donk” Eilar, 69, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born February 23, 1954, in Lebanon, a son of the late Marvin Grant Eilar and Ruthanna (Holmes) Eilar.
On March 9, 1974, he was married to Sharon Lynn (Cunningham) Eilar in Kansas; she survives.
Dwane was a 1972 graduate of Lebanon High School. Throughout the years, he managed several different businesses at various locations. He held memberships in Lebanon with the American Legion Post 113, Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2062, Sons of the American Revolution, Moose Lodge #1269, and the Circle S Ranch Hunting Lodge in Missouri.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family dearly. Dwane enjoyed hunting, fishing, and singing Karaoke.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Eilar; daughter, Shannon L. (Robert) Stewart; granddaughter, Emma J. Brown; brother-in-law, Donald Hamm, all of Lebanon; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dwane was preceded in death by his son, Justin “Bubba” Eilar; his brother, Phillip Eilar; and his sister, Barbara Hamm.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services are planned for Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Matt Skiles, officiating. Interment will follow services at Lincoln Memory Garden in Whitestown, Indiana.
