Ellen Harmon Davis, 83, of Lebanon, died Monday, June 21, 2021 at CrownPointe Senior Living in Lebanon.

Ellen was born July 2, 1937, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late J. Cabe and Thelma Davis. She is a 1957 graduate of Lebanon High School. Ellen was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Church School Teacher, Mother’s Day Out Leader, and sang in the choir for over 50 years.  She was also a member of  Psi Iota Xi and Magazine Club.

Ellen cared for many children in their homes and at church.  She volunteered her time at M.O.P.s and CrownPointe where she lived for 17 years and made many friends and memories. Ellen had a way of making everyone she encountered feel special.  She was a bright and shining spot in this world and she will be dearly missed.

Some of Ellen’s favorite pastimes were reading, crafting, and traveling. She enjoyed many bus trips with Senior Services and entered her crafts in 4H annually.  Children were very special to Ellen and she loved to spend time with her great nieces, great nephews, and great-great niece Allie Mae.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Ellen (Steve) Reising of Sellersburg, JT Whitehead of Indianapolis, Mary Parr of Columbus, and William Whitehead of Lebanon; great nieces and nephews, Alicia (Hudson) Luckett, Mary Martha Reising, Daniel and Joseph Whitehead, Adam, Davis, Alex, and Julia Kessler, Ally Zink, and Caroline Stoppenhagen; and great-great niece, Allie Mae.

Ellen was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret (James) Whitehead and Elizabeth Nicholson Davis.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, July 1, 2021 for visitation from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Ellen will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
