Erma Cory, 90, of Lebanon, died Thursday, February 16, 2023 at her home in Lebanon.

Erma was born May 27, 1932, in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Claude and Thelma (Zimmerman) Remaly.

She graduated from Rossville High School in 1950. Erma married the love of her life of 71 years, Ted Cory, on February 16, 1952.

Erma worked as a bank teller during the changes from Citizen’s Bank to PNC and retired in 1990. While her husband was in the service, they moved around many states. At the age of 47 years, she taught herself to swim for the first time.

She was very active in the Kountry Klub Home Extension in Boone County. Erma loved making crafts and sewing children’s clothing.

In 1993, Ted and Erma bought a house in Florida, splitting their time between there and Indiana.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Cory; daughters, Cathy (Dave) Kolanowski of Brownsburg and Carol Haney of Lebanon; brother, Wayne (Gwen) Remaly; grandchildren, Kala Haney, Amanda (Jon) Hall, and Michelle (Collin) Carter; great grandchildren, Ruby & Jack Hall and Audrey & Levi Carter.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Gene (Judy) Remaly.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, February 19, for visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Erma will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery in Lebanon.
