Mrs. Eva J. Edwards, 79, passed away peacefully at Life’s Journey of Avon with family by her side on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. She was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on April 22, 1941, a daughter of the late Dorman Robert and Mary Josephine (Vanausdall) Farris.

Raised in Boone County, she was a 1959 graduate of Lebanon High School.

From Eva’s first marriage, she had four daughters. In 1992, she married James William “Jim” Edwards; he preceded her in death earlier this year on July 24, 2020.

Eva and Jim spent years together in Sebring, Florida where they enjoyed golfing, shuffle boarding, and dining with friends.

Survivors include daughters, Michelle (Steve) Standeford of Jamestown, Lisa Batts of Pittsboro, Mary Beth (Russ) Shoaf of Jamestown, Delana (Ted) Bennington of Jamestown, and Kathy (David) Birge of Zionsville; grandchildren, Todd (Amanda) Fields of Lebanon, Diana Shirley of Lebanon, Keith Standeford of Indianapolis, Eli (Nikki) Standeford of Middlesbrough, Florida, Adam Batts of Lebanon, Aron Batts of Pittsboro, Drew (Kristin) Batts of Lebanon, Keith (Tina) Shoaf of Fishers, Brian Shoaf of Elko, Nevada, Austin (Erica) Bennington of Jamestown, Laine (A.J.) Stockdale of Hillsboro, Indiana and Kaden Bennington of Jamestown; fifteen great grandchildren whom she adored; brothers, George (Dixie) Farris of Lebanon, John E. (Judy) Farris of Lebanon and David L. Farris of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews whom she was very close with. Eva was also survived by ongoing friendships from school, Sebring, Florida, and her current residence at Quail Creek.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Eva was preceded in death by a brother, James Herbert Farris; two sisters, Edna L. Richardson and Norma J. Stricklin; along with two grandsons, Greg Cook and Troy Fields.

Due to the current pandemic, private memorial services are planned for Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon. Services can be viewed by the public on the Myers Mortuary Facebook page beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon.

Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.

Memorials in Eva’s memory may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
