Bags of frozen fruit sold at stores in Indiana are included in a nationwide recall. Sunrise Growers Inc. says certain frozen fruit products sent to Walmart, Target, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods locations in the Hoosier state over the last few months could be contaminated with Listeria, a germ that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. The company says the contamination is linked to pineapple chunks from a third-party supplier, but some of the recalled products don’t contain pineapple.

Listeria infection can lead to an infection called listeriosis, which can be serious or even fatal for young children, older adults, and others with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant people.
