Freida Elizabeth (Wethington) Coffman was welcomed into her eternal Heavenly home on Jan. 31, 2021 at her residence in Jamestown.

Freida was born in Liberty, KY on Oct. 13, 1931 and married Marvin “Fuzzy” Coffman on Aug. 12, 1950 in Casey Co., KY. He preceded her in death in 2002.  They have four sons; Marvin Van, Danny, and Randall (Melissa), all of Jamestown and Timothy (Michelle) of Thorntown; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Gwen (Gene) Coffman of Jamestown and a brother, Clifton Wethington of Lebanon. In addition to her husband, Freida was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Cecil and Edith Wethington, and two brothers, Paul and James Wethington.

To describe the women Freida was to each and every person she knew, would take pages. Her time invested in each one was deep and treasured. The prayers she prayed for all who knew her, the giving heart God blessed her with and the outpouring of commitment she gave to all, are riches to those still here on Earth.

Her family will always remember the fun and laughter shared. Especially when she’d take pictures and cut everyone’s head off. The stories she’d tell of raising four crazy boys and how she could write a book about it. The dance parties in her living room with Poppie and the grand and great- grand kids, nieces and nephews. Making biscuits with them and each one getting to make their initial in the dough.

She was a talented seamstress who not only sewed for businesses (Thorntown Textile), but also family. The bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, swing choir robes, baseball shirts, costumes, you name it, she did it.

Freida enjoyed life, loved God and made sure others were always cared for no matter the circumstance.

Freida was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Jamestown where she taught Sunday School and led Missionary Services. She never missed a moment to pray for others and was a blessing to many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy Home Missions, 8 W. Elm St., Jamestown, IN 46147.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Brother Walter Beam officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N.
