With funding now in place, six school resource officers (SROs) will be joining the team at Western Boone and Zionsville community schools at the start of 2018-19 school year.
The Boone County Council approved a $590,053 additional appropriation at a special meeting held Monday to allow Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen to lay the ground work for the new SRO program and ensure that all schools in the BCSO coverage area have officers present in each school.  More information is available at the Lebanon Reporter website.
