Gary D. McDaniel, 76, of Advance, Indiana, passed away on Thursday night, August 15, 2019, at IU West Hospital in Avon. He was born October 5, 1942, in Boone County, the son of the late Ernest V. and Dorothy A. (Layton) McDaniel.
A life resident of Boone County, he graduated from Dover High School in 1960.
On January 26, 1976, he was married to Judith A. (Simons) McDaniel in Danville, Illinois. Judy survives and they shared 43 years together.
Gary had worked for RR Donnelley and Raybestos Powertrain in Crawfordsville. For a period of time he had also worked at the Granville Wells Elementary school.
He loved his family and the time they spent together. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, and Purdue Boilermaker Basketball. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, coaching the kids basketball at Granville Wells. Most of all he enjoyed fishing in Minnesota.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine L. McDaniel; and four sisters, Carolyn Wilson, Patricia Wilson, Marilyn Copeland, and Shirley Breedlove.
Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation is planned from 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in Lebanon.
Boone County Crematory of Lebanon has been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
