Ginger Sanders, 71, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital January 25, 2024. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 27, 1952, a daughter to the late Bonnie Means-Fisher and John Fisher.

She graduated Lebanon High School in 1969.

Ginger married the love of her life David Sanders at Little Eagle Creek Church.

Ginger was preceded in death by her husband David Sanders, as well as her brothers, John Fisher, Terry Fisher, and Guy Fisher.

She is survived by sister Tina (Jay) Vinard, her children Tracy Fisher (son), Amanda (Donald) Neal (daughter), John Sanders (son), Andrew Sanders (son), Brandon Sanders (son). Ginger was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, Sarah Fisher, Liam Wiseman, Charles Wiseman, Elston Sanders, Lola Sanders, Lillian Neal, Juniper Sanders, and Ophelia Sanders.

Ginger worked for St. Vincent in the Registration department at the Indianapolis and Carmel locations for nearly 20 years.

Ginger was a lover of arts and crafts and spent countless hours knitting. Her love for Asian cuisine and chocolate was a well-known passion to everyone she knew. She also spent the last years of her life traveling across America, whether it was with her husband, or by herself. She truly saw the beauty in all of life and was able to experience lots of adventures in her travels. You could find her most evenings knitting at home with a warm blanket and her mischievous cat (Mr. Crooks) on her lap, and most days with her being active with her love of plants and being with her grandchildren. Her love of frogs was only surpassed by her love showered on her family and friends.

If Ginger had a catch phrase it was “Well, tell me something good.”

A Celebration of Life is planned for May 25th at Lebanon Memorial Park a few days before her birthday. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Caring Center, 1230 Ransdell Court, Lebanon, Indiana 46052, where she volunteered.
