Mrs. H. Rovene Woody, 88, of Frankfort, passed away May 3, 2020, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.

Rovene was born March 29, 1932, in Tipton, a daughter of the late Everett and Iris (Rude) Barrett. She married Devon Woody on July 31, 1953. He survives.

Rovene graduated from Lebanon High School in 1951. She worked for Indiana Bell, in real estate, and for State Farm Insurance agent Greg Cook. Rovene loved her grandchildren and was always attending their various activities. She also loved being surrounded by her family and the farm. Rovene enjoyed the outdoors and flowers. She was a member of the Countryside Christian Church, and she always enjoyed working there.

Survivors include her husband, Devon Woody of Frankfort; children, Dale Woody of Frankfort, Marcia (Greg) Stoner of Lafayette, and Marlena (John) Metzger of Lebanon; grandchildren, Daniel and Elijah Woody, Luke Fehribach, Lydia King, Jessica Stoner, and Melissa Smith; great-granddaughter, Chloe Smith; sister, Helen (Don) Driscol; and step-brothers, Rick (Joan) and Walter Culley. In addition to her parents, Rovene was preceded in death by her son, James Earl Woody; grandson, Isaac Woody; and sister, Lois O’Conner.

Family and friends will gather Thurs., May 7, 2020, for visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Due to public health concern, CDC guidelines will be followed for social distancing. Those attending are encouraged to wear a mask and follow precautions. A private family funeral service will be held following visitation. Rovene will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
