Harry D. Ashworth Sr., 93, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his home in Lebanon. He was born June 4, 1930, in Tupelo, Arkansas, a son of the late Harry Ashworth and Polly (Shorth) Ashworth.

On April 16, 1949, he was united in marriage to Imogene (Glaze) Ashworth in White County, Arkansas. She preceded him in death in 2006.

Harry attended high school and became a union welder out of the local, Terre Haute Pipefitters Union in 1957. He was also employed at Good Sam’s Camp Club.

He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Bradford, Arkansas. Harry was particularly fond of woodworking, especially in creating picnic tables and swings.

Survivors include his son, Harry Ashworth Jr.; daughter, Sandy (Steve) Wilson; daughter-in-law, Laura Ashworth; grandchildren, Sarah (Douglas) Kovell, Andrea Brandt, Joni (Lewis) Jones, Shawnda (Doug) Jones, and Amanda (Jesse) Moon; stepbrothers, Cleve Clinghan and Steve Clinghan; and stepsisters, Shirley Townsend, and Pat Ashby.

In addition to his parents and wife, Harry was preceded in death by his son Barry Ashworth; grandson-in-law, Brian Brandt; great granddaughter, Melissa Ashworth; great grandson, Brayden Brandt; brother, Sterling Ashworth; and stepsister, Charlene Harrison.

Funeral Services will be held in Bald Knob, Arkansas. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Interment at Shady Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob, Arkansas.

Memorials may be directed in his memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
