Heather Nicole Akers, 37, of Advance, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2023. She was born on June 24, 1985, in Paintsville, Kentucky, a daughter of Jerry and Debbie Akers.
Raised in Jamestown, Indiana, Heather was a 2003 graduate of Western Boone High School.
She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She lit up a room wherever she was. Family was the most important thing to Heather, and she absolutely adored her children. She had a fiery passion for life and music and made friends wherever she went.
Survivors include her parents; Jerry and Debbie Akers; children, Emily Shepherd, Trey Fuston, Bradley Fuston, and Marly Akers; brother, Doug Akers; sister, April (Matt) Hopkins; grandfather, Donald Conn; nephew, Jerry Douglas Akers III; niece, Kirra Hopkins, as well as many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Heather was proceeded in death by grandparents, Rex Hamilton, Vivian Conn, and Jack and Wanda “Sue” Akers; and an aunt, Kathy Hamilton.
Funeral Services are planned for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February17, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Pastor Trent Popplewell and Judy Popplewell, officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Please dress colorfully as a representation of how radiant Heather was in life. Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with her cremation following services.
