Mr. Howard “Hank” Wilbur Bowman, 92, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Hank was born December 16, 1930, in rural Boone County, a son of the late Earl and Martha “Zelma” (Ward) Bowman. He was married for 66 years to Margaret “Brownie” (Witt) Bowman. She preceded him in death August 26, 2020.

Hank proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his winters in Florida where he would come to life at 4:00 to go to Gator Bites, along with spending time at the Lakehouse during the summer. Hank also enjoyed golfing, where he had two holes-in-one during his lifetime. More than anything, he just wanted everyone to have a good time. Hank was a member of the Lebanon Elks, the American Legion, and the Masons.

Survivors include his daughter, Deb Bradley of Lebanon; daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Marty) McGinley of Lebanon; grandchildren, Gretchen (Sean) Selters of Colorado, Zac Bradley of South Carolina, and Nic Bradley of Lebanon; sister, Judy (Hugh) Williamson of Ellettsville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Hank was preceded in death by his son, David Bowman; son-in-law, David Bradley; and brothers, Harold (Betty) Bowman and Harry Bowman.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 3, at 2 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. Final care of Hank has been entrusted to the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, the Lebanon American Legion, or the Lebanon Elks.
