Marion County looks to be getting more Democratic, but the rest of Indiana will remain fully in Republican hands under the state’s new political map. Lawmakers released the map yesterday. It’s based on the population shift in the latest Census. The biggest change is that Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz is losing part of Marion County in her district but gaining new voters in the suburbs. The map all but guarantees that Republicans will keep their majorities at the state Capitol and in Congress. Indiana Democrats say the map is gerrymandered.
