(Indianapolis, IN) — Colts’ punter Rigoberto Sanchez has been named to the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-Rookie team. Sanchez played in all 16 games this season for Indy after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Hawaii. He averaged 44.8 yards per punt with a 42.6 net during his rookie campaign. Sanchez is the first Colt to earn a spot on this rookie squad since T.Y. Hilton and Dwayne Allen in 2012.

(Portland, OR) — The Blazers will look to remain hot when they take on the Blazers in Portland tomorrow. Indy has won three-straight including the first two of the current five-game road swing. At 24-and-20, the Pacers are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference. Portland is 22-and-21.

(West Lafayette, IN) — Carsen Edwards led the way with 21 points as third-ranked Purdue cruised past Wisconsin 78-50 last night at Mackey Arena. Vincent Edwards pitched in with 20 points and P.J. Thompson scored 14 in the winning effort. The Boilermakers shot 51-percent from the field, including 14-of-22 from three, as they won their 14th-straight and improved to 18-and-2. They are undefeated in Big Ten play at 7-and-0.

(Undated) — Elsewhere in college hoops last night, Notre Dame fell to Louisville, 82-78, in double-OT from South Bend. Matt Farrell paced the Irish with 23 points as they lost their third in a row. Indiana State is at Evansville tonight and Indiana is off until Friday.
