>>Former Colt LB Freeman Retires

(Indianapolis, IN) — Former Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman is hanging up his cleats. The 32-year-old announced his retirement on Wednesday. He spent 2012-through-2015 with the Colts and started all 70 games he played for them. Freeman played three seasons in the Canadian Football League before joining Indy in 2012.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts open their three-day rookie minicamp next Friday. All 11 of their draft picks plus 10 undrafted free agents will be present. A group of unsigned tryout players will also be there hoping to earn contracts. In other news, the rookies have been assigned their jersey numbers. First-round pick Quenton Moore will wear number-56.

>>Pacers’ Joseph Picks Up Contract Option

(Indianapolis, IN) — Pacers guard Cory Joseph plans to return to Indiana next season. Joseph exercised the nearly eight-million dollar option in his contract for next season. The 26-year-old averaged 7.9 points, 3.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 82 games for Indiana last season. He’s entering the final year of a four-year, 30-million-dollar deal.

>>Mud Hens Drop Indians

(Toledo, OH) — Jordan Luplow drove in all five runs for the Indians in a 7-5 loss to the Mud Hens in Toledo. Luplow drilled a three-run homer in the first inning and added a two-run bomb in the third. Tyler Jones was charged with the loss. The Tribe returns home to host the Gwinnet Stripers tonight. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

>>Fever Open Preseason Next Week

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Indiana Fever tip off preseason play next week. They will play the first of two exhibition tilts next Monday against the Chicago Sky at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The second-and-final preseason game will be the following Saturday against the Washington Mystics. The regular season tips off on May 19th. The 2018 Fever Tipoff Party will be May 10th at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
