(Foxboro, MA) — Josh McDaniels is staying in New England. The Colts are confirming the Patriots’ offensive coordinator has changed his mind and will not become head coach of Indianapolis. The Colts reached agreement with McDaniels earlier on Tuesday and had announced an introductory press conference for Wednesday, which has since been canceled. The team released a statement saying they’re were surprised to learn Tuesday evening that McDaniels wouldn’t be taking the job after previously agreeing to contract terms. ESPN reports Patriots owner Robert Kraft gave McDaniels a raise to remain with them and not leave for Indianapolis.
