>>Colts’ Training Camp Opens Next Week

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  Rookies for the Indianapolis Colts are due to report to training camp on Monday, while veterans will arrive with the team on Saturday.  The Colts are holding camp at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center after seven straight seasons at Anderson University.  Indianapolis will host the Detroit Lions on August 13th to open preseason action.

>>Bulls Rip Indians

(Durham, NC)  —  Nick Kingham gave up seven hits and eight runs over four innings as the Indians fell to the Bulls, 9-4, in Durham.  Danny Ortiz belted a three-run homer in the loss.  The Indians lost two-of-three in Durham.  They’ll travel to Georgia today to open a four-game series with the Gwinnett Braves.  First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

>>Fever Down Mercury

(Phoenix, AZ)  —  Eric Wheeler scored 20 points as the Fever downed the Phoenix Mercury, 84-77, in Phoenix on Wednesday.  Candace Dupree added 17 points for Indiana, which ended a five-game slide.  The Fever improved to 8-and-12 overall.  They’ll play the third of a four-game road trip tonight in San Antonio.  Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

>>Death Of Ex-Bills WR Hardy Rule Suicide

(Fort Wayne, IN)  —  The death of former Indiana University wide receiver James Hardy is being ruled a suicide.  Chief Investigator Michael Burris announced in a statement that the cause of death was asphyxia due to drowning.  The determination was based on Hardy’s medical and psychiatric history as well as other evidence.  Hardy’s body was found June 7th in the Maumee River in his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Hardy played three seasons with the Hoosiers from 2005 to 2007.  Buffalo drafted him in the second round in 2008 out of IU.

>>Monster Series Heads To Indianapolis

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Indy for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Qualifying takes place Saturday evening, with the 160-lap, 400-mile race to follow Sunday afternoon.  Martin Truex Jr. enters the weekend atop the standings.
