(Indianapolis, IN) — Indy 500 qualifying is this weekend. The first practice session was yesterday. Practices will be held through Friday with the two part qualifying phase taking place on Saturday and Sunday. The 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for May 27th.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts continue moving through the offseason. After wrapping up rookie mini-camp, voluntary OTA’s are next on the agenda. They open up a week from today. Mandatory minicamp is June 12th-through-14th.

>>Indians Hold Off Tides

(Norfolk, VA) — The Indians scored 10 runs in the second inning and held on to edge the Tides 10-8 in Norfolk. Wyatt Mathisen had a pair of hits in the frame, including a bases-clearing three-run double and also scored two runs. Damien Magnifico worked three innings of one-run relief to earn the win and Johnny Hellweg came on to lock down the save. The Indians improved to 19-and-16 and play the second-of-three at Norfolk tonight. First pitch tonight is set for 6:35 p.m.

>>Fever Open Regular Season Saturday

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Indiana Fever open the regular season at home on Saturday versus the Chicago Sky. They’ll seek a return to the playoffs after missing out last season. Pokey Chatman is back for her second season as head coach and general manager. In roster moves, the Fever waived Bashaara Graves, Alexis Peterson and Jeanette Pohlen-Mavunga. Indiana’s training camp roster remains at 13 players and must be trimmed to 12 by tomorrow.
