>>Colts Continue Organized Team Activities

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts continue organized team activities today. Indianapolis held the first of 10 OTA practices yesterday and they continue through the first week of June. These workouts are voluntary but mandatory minicamp starts on June 12th.

>>NFL Owners Approve New Kickoff, Ejection Rules

(Atlanta, GA) — NFL owners are approving new kickoff and ejection rules in an attempt to cut down on full-speed collisions and make the game more safe. Kickoffs will now be more like punts. In addition to eliminating the wedge-block, any ball that hits the end zone will now be ruled a touchback. The owners also approved the “use of the helmet” rule, which can now lead to ejections if a player lowers his head to initiate or make contact with an opponent. They also approved the sale of the Carolina Panthers to David Tepper for a NFL-record 2.2-billion-dollars and discussed ways to handle the National Anthem.

>>Indians Edge Bats

(Indianapolis, IN) — Indians pitchers worked around 13 hits and five walks as Indy edged the Louisville Bats 5-3 at Victory Field. Casey Sadler earned the win and Johnny Hellweg locked down his ninth save. Sadler also drove in a pair of runs in the winning effort. The Indians improved to 23-and-19 and play the third-of-four with Louisville this afternoon. First pitch is 1:35 p.m.

>>Fever Host Sparks

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Fever fell behind 33-16 in the first quarter and couldn’t recover as they fell to the Sparks 87-70 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 20 points off the bench in defeat. Indy is 0-and-3 to open the season. They are back on the court tomorrow to welcome the Washington Mystics to town.
