At approximately 3:21 AM Sunday morning, the Boone County Communications Center received a call notifying them that there was an accident on Interstate 865, in the area of the 4.4 mile-marker, eastbound. Both the Zionsville Police Department and BCSO were dispatched to the area to investigate.
Upon officers’ arrival, it was found that a 2000 Silver Honda Accord had struck a metal pole in the median of the interstate, in the area of the 4.2 mile-marker, eastbound. As a result, the front portion of the vehicle was severed from the passenger and trunk section. Officers immediately went to render aid to the unknown occupant(s) of the vehicle. It was at this time that they found the sole
occupant/driver, Ryan Forrest (21 years old) of Carmel, IN, deceased due to injuries sustained from the collision.
The cause of this incident is still under investigation by the BCSO FACT Team.
