One Boone County Jail corrections officer was fired after an inmate death, one was disciplined, and one earned praise, but details are scarce, pending results of an investigation.
Prince T. McGoy, 58, of Indianapolis, suffered an apparent fatal heart attack in jail after 11 p.m. Aug. 10.
McGoy complained of chest pain and was sweating heavily at about 11:15 p.m. Aug. 10, a BCSO press release said at the time.
Jail staff contacted Witham Health Services medics, began cardiopulmonary resuscitation and used an automatic external defibrillator to help McGoy regain a pulse, according to the press release.
McGoy was taken to Witham Hospital in Lebanon and then transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died Aug. 11. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
