Janet Ellen Belcher, 63, of Carmel, passed away at her home in Carmel.
Jan was born January 6, 1958 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Morton E. (Bud) and Dorothy A. (Bartlett) Belcher.
Jan graduated from Carmel High School in 1976 and attended IUPUI from 1976 to 1978. Jan served as President/CEO of North Augusta, Inc. Previous employment included Dance Instructor at Mason and Bush Ballroom Dancing, Cosmetologist, and Sales and Administrative Assistant.
Jan was an avid supporter of the Humane Society of Hamilton County and advocate for animal welfare. Her love for dogs was a passion that she held dear to her heart. Jan had several dear and close friends that she considered to be part of her family. Her positive outlook on life and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include furbaby, Bartlett Buddy Belcher; sister, Judi (Lynn) Wilson of Lebanon; brother, Roger Belcher of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Marilyn Belcher; nieces, Christy (Joe) Neff and Stephanie (Bud) Wirey both of Lebanon; nephews, Rob (Amber) Auman of Pittsboro, Sean Wilson of Missouri, and Matthew (Mary) Belcher of Columbus; and four great nephews and two great nieces, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Belcher; nephew, Christopher Belcher; and furbabies, Cha- Cha, Noel, and Isabella
Family and friends will gather Thursday, June 24, 2021 for a Celebration of Life from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Humane Society of Hamilton County.
