On the morning of January 10, 2023, Jeffrey Michael Lowe passed away at his residence surrounded by his closest loved ones and friends. He was 71 years old, though more importantly, still a child at heart.

Jeff was born to Keith and Kay Lowe in 1951. He was raised in Griffith, Indiana alongside his older sister, Deborah. As a child, Jeff loved weekend trips to Chicago to catch a White Sox game, playing sports, and spending time with family. Jeff lettered in both swimming and tennis at Griffith High School before attending Indiana University for his bachelor’s degree and then Butler University for his MBA.

He had many professions throughout his life including paperboy, bartender, insurance, and banking. However, the profession he was most proud of was family man. With his family, he loved playing cards, late night conversations, morning coffee on the front porch, coaching little league, winning at Backgammon, and family pool days with the grandchildren.

Outside of being a family man, Jeff enjoyed growing things with his green thumb. Using this skill, he left behind his corporate banking life to start a successful landscaping business (Strawberry Hill Nursery) which he ran until he retired. Upon retirement, Jeff spent his time on other hobbies such as collecting old and unique coins, golf, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

In the last eight years, Jeff endured many health issues that limited his mobility and quality of life. Through all of this, he never lost his inner child and love of games. Even on the hard days he found reasons to laugh, crack a “dad” joke, or play games with anyone who thought they could beat him. He also enjoyed sharing some of his favorite movies and shows with his loved ones.

His memory lives on with his wife Katina, his three children, Heather (Nathan), Kyle, and Chris; his three grandchildren, Noah, Gabriella, and Everly; and his dog Jasmine; all of whom he loved “more than a dinosaur.”

Memorial services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with his cremation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boone County Senior Services or the Humane Society for Boone County.
