Jo Ann Schirmer, 86, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 21, 1936; a daughter of the late Clarence and Marie (Rocklin) Homan.
She attended schools in Cincinnati, Ohio and on June 26, 1954, she was married to Cyril M. Schirmer in Cincinnati; he survives.
Jo Ann was a longtime member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Lebanon. She was a homemaker, raising her five children and later in life she worked at the Lebanon Wal-Mart. Jo Ann loved to play cards, especially Euchre, reading and crossword puzzles. She was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband: Cyril Schirmer of Lebanon; sons, Lawrence J. (Beverly) Schirmer of Brazil, Indiana, James W. Schirmer of Sandersville, Georgia; daughters, Marianne (David) Landis of Ellijay, Georgia, Janette M. Parker of Bartlett, Tennessee; son-in-law, Ron Miller of Danville, Indiana; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth S. Miller; one brother and two sisters.
Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13th at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana.
Funeral Mass is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 319 East South Street in Lebanon, Indiana.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
