Mrs. Joanna Kathleen Hunter, 95, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, Sep. 29, 2021.

Joanna was born Sep. 13, 1926 at home in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Walter S. and Lottie (Wait) Dinsmore.

Joanna married Richard “Dick” John Hunter on Aug. 24, 1946. He preceded her in death Oct. 30, 2019.

Joanna worked as a data entry operator for Mayflower for 11 years, and then went on to work in the Kroger deli department. She especially enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Joanna also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and working puzzles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Smile-a-While home ec club.

Survivors include her children, John R. (Amy) Hunter of Indianapolis, Ritchie Hunter of Zionsville, and Dianna (Jerry) Collier of Lebanon; grandchildren, Steve Hunter, Linda (Todd Garland) Hunter, Stacy (Scott) McCormick, Jeff Hunter, Jerry (Jennifer) Collier, III, Daniel (Courtney) Collier, Mallory (Eric) Dickerson, and John J. (Dominique) Hunter; step-granddaughter, Carson Meyer; great grandchildren, Allison Hunter, Julianna Hunter, Tyler Garland, Austin Cole, Parker Collier, Annabelle Collier, Lylah Collier, Griffin Collier and Gavin Hunter, and Madison Isenhower; and special family friend, Teresa Hunter. In addition to her parents and her loving husband of 73 years, Joanna was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Hunter; brother, Joe Dinsmore; sisters, Martha Scott, Ruth James, Jane Pemberton, and Helen Dinsmore; and step-grandsons, Max Meyer and Jake Meyer.

Family and friends will gather Monday, Oct. 4, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
