Joseph Lee Cripe, 68, of Kirklin, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Joseph was born Jul. 1, 1953, in Kokomo, a son of the late Buddie Lee and Joyce (Woods) Cripe.

Joseph graduated from Lewis Cass High School in Walton in 1971. He worked as a farmer, proudly owning a farm and raising cattle. Joseph was known lovingly by his family and friends as “the man who gets them to the ring and gets the banners.” He loved fishing and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his children, Kara Cripe of Lebanon, Ryan Cripe of Connecticut, Jeramy Cripe of Lebanon, and Joel Cripe of Florida; grandchildren, Alexa Cripe, Cora, Taylar, Kolby, and Elliott Dale, Sophia Cripe, Isabelle and Aaron Miller, Josie Strawmyer, Garett Samiotis, and Landon Cripe; and sister, Becky Cripe of Kokomo. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Justin Lee Cripe; brother, Rod Heckeman; and sister, Cindy Monroe.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, Nov. 23, for visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Boone County 4-H Foundation, 1300 E. 100 S., Lebanon, IN 46052.
