June L. Burress (95), a resident of Lebanon, IN, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, Apr. 29, of natural causes.

She grew up in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Marvin Kenneth and Fara (Dickson) Thompson and has lived in Lebanon since her marriage to Russell O. Burress, Jr., on March 25, 1945. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1996.

She graduated in 1944 from Frankfort High School and was employed by the State Highway Department from 1970 to 1980.  She previously worked for the Bob Harman Insurance Agency. She enjoyed square dancing, bowling, gardening, playing cards, visiting Las Vegas, and her family (especially the young ones).

She is survived by sons Steve (Anne); Kenny (Alberta); Larry; Gary (Nancy); and Hank (Betty) and daughters Phyllis Downey (Tom); Cheryl Morton (Don); and Libby Whiteman (Rick). In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by sisters Dean Schenck and Lanny Wilson and grandson Chad Burress. In addition to her eight children, she is survived by 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 4, from 12:00 to 3:00, with funeral services immediately following in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
