Karla Jean Allen September 24, 1952 – September 8, 2022
A shining star suddenly left us too soon. Karla was born on September 24, 1952 to Anna Marie and Roy Myers, both deceased.
Karla was the youngest of five children. She leaves behind to forever mourn her death,
her partner of the last 23 years, Harry Kiphart and his children, Sam, Erica and Lisa, and grandkids, Jemma, Jake and Scarlet, sister, Roanna Hepburn and partner, Lin Conover, nieces, Kandi Pratt, Melissa Warren, Brianna Dietrich and Kim Brown, nephews, Kevin Frye, Doug, Scott and Robb Deffenbaugh.
Predeceasing her, in addition to her mother and father, are her sister, Sandra Frye, brothers, David Myers and Harry Deffenbaugh and numerous close friends.
Karla grew up in Whitestown and graduated from Lebanon High School. Loving to cook she worked for several years at the Whitestown Tavern and The County Seat in Lebanon.
She went on to work at Target in Indianapolis for many years before leaving due to health problems.
Karla was an outgoing, kind, loving and loyal friend who, even though she has had many health problems in the last 20 years, had a wonderful sense of humor that would always leave you laughing.
A special thank you to all of Karla’s friends that went above and beyond the call of friendship and being there for her in numerous ways, especially long- time friends, Diana Roberts and Mary Ann Klinger.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
