Mr. Larry Gene Shaver, 65, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born in Aurora, Illinois on May 23, 1956; the son of the late Kenneth Edward and Clara Mae (Jenson) Shaver.
Larry was raised in Illinois and attended schools in Aurora. Following school, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
Larry spent his working career in the steel industry. He enjoyed cooking, watching the Food Network, and listening to music. Having grown up near Chicago, he was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Survivors include his fiancée, Joyce Taylor of Lebanon; children, Kaylee M. (Alex) Natale of Colorado Springs, Victoria Shaver, and John Shaver; Joyce’s children, Bryan (Brandi) Taylor, Logan Martinez, and Makayla Martinez; grandchildren, Mikey and Noelle Natale, and Owen and Noah Taylor; sisters, Rhonda (Dave) Dykman of Shorewood, Illinois and Tammy (John) Giocomelli of Aurora, Illinois; brother-in-law, Ed Reed; Joyce’s siblings, Wanda Deal, Wayne (Kathy) Hasty, and Geri (Bruce) Bartlett; several nieces and nephews; and his special fur baby, P.J.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Reed; nephew, Lenny Mueller; Joyce’s parents, Joe and Maggie Hasty; Joyce’s siblings, Lee Hasty, Verlin Hasty, Bob Hasty, Ruth Cochran, and brother-in-law, Tom Deal.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
Memorials may be directed in his memory to the Humane Society for Boone County or the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
