Monday at 10:07 AM, crews were dispatched to a mobile home fire at 1322 south Lebanon Street. Upon arrival, Battalion 201 confirmed there was a fire in the rear bedroom of the trailer and that all occupants were outside of the home. At 10:14 crews had water on the fire, and it was marked under control at 10:28. Due to a confirmation of no one in the home, the crews performed a transitional attack of the fire. The transitional attack allowed them to safely knock the bulk of the fire down before making entry into the home to completely extinguish the fire. Units remained on the scene until 12:46 investigating the fire. No injuries were reported during the incident.
After the investigation, an overloaded electrical circuit was determined to be the cause of the fire. The use of electric space heaters as an alternative heat source contributed to the overloading of the circuit.
The family was displaced and lost all their belongings. The Salvation Army is assisting with temporary housing and basic needs.
