COVID-19 has prompted 911 operators in Boone County to ask three new questions on the calls.
Does the patient have signs of a fever, shortness of breath or cough? Is the patient a healthcare worker? Has the patient recently traveled to China, Iran, Italy, Japan or South Korea? If the dispatcher gets a yes on any of those questions, the first responders will place a mask on the patient. “Right now, we are not changing our standard precautions,” Lebanon Fire Chief Chuck Batts said about the local response to the novel coronavirus.
